Cloth diaper hacks for nighttime will allow moms who use them to win this battle. Moms who choose to use this diaper option can relate to the nighttime battle of cloth diapers. I actually had trouble at nighttime with disposable diapers. My children were all boys, and from that experience I would say it made cloth diapering hard at night to say the least.
Most moms want to get as much sleep as possible in between feedings. A wet baby is not going to sleep all night, and this makes it hard to use cloth diapers. Never worry though, because cloth diaper hacks for nighttime will give some tips to help with this battle.
Use a plastic cover over the cloth diaper
If baby is waking up wet when he needs to be sleeping, try to use a plastic cover over the prefold diaper. Then put the fitted diaper over the prefold and plastic cover. It may be a little more cumbersome but helps to keep wetness from leaking out.
Add in an extra prefold or insert
Using an extra insert into the fitted diaper helps to keep the moisture from leaking out. My favorite was the prefold. They held in moisture the best on my babies.
Fix any gaps
Gaps on a cloth diaper can definitely cause leakage. Check to see if the diaper is too big, or if any of the cloth insert can be seen. Cloth diaper covers should fit snug around the leg area. A cloth diaper will not hole in wetness like a disposable, but finding a fitted cover that is gathered around the legs will hold in moisture.
Buy a good quality fitted diaper cover
Quality matters especially when it comes to cloth diapers. Spending the extra monty to get a good quality of diaper cover will go along way when it is time to sleep. Check reviews and speak with other cloth diaper moms. Buy one of each diaper cover brand and decide which one is best. What one mom may like, another may not like.
Use Diaper Cream or Vaseline
During my babies bedtime routine I made sure that I used diaper cream or vaseline to help keep the wetness off of them. A wet baby is going to wake up and be unhappy. Preventing wetness from the inside and the outside will help baby sleep better through the night.
Cloth diapers are great for saving money, keeping baby safer from chemicals, and convenience. Cloth diaper hacks help moms sleep better through the night.
