Bored children can make mothers’ cringe, and to me that means constantly trying to entertain them. I put together this list of spring break fun to help any mother creating a bucket list for this break. We will have time each day for a fun, spring break activity, work/chores, and quiet time so that mom can accomplish a project or two over the break. My kids and I sit down at the table and I read over our activity options. After hearing a few each will answer what they are interested in putting on our list.
Spring break is a good time to investigate hobby interests for kids, looking at handicrafts, sculpting, knitting, or STEM projects. Pinterest is full of spring break fun ideas!
Sometimes there is so much to do, and so little time. We do not travel during spring break like many so I tend to get stir crazy. Instead of sitting around telling me they are bored, I insert ideas’ to help the kids play or create crazy things to do such as: In nice weather creating an outside obstacle course, working on a bird house project, or just learning how to build something safely. Boys or girls can put their measuring knowledge to work.
Planning will help with boredom, behavior, and imagination.
A few ideas to set up a flexible daily plan over the break is to:
1. Write out a brief schedule of each day and what you expect.
2. Make out a short list of projects they would like to complete. One of mine is the kitchen cabinets. I added organizing them to my list.
3. Get all of the supplies needed for an activity. Plan ahead on locations outside of the home.

Final Thoughts:
My parents fun list for our family included spring clean up in the yard, house, and cars. I want my children to remember the time I spend with them. Fun time.
This list is a good mixture of fun things to do for kids to entertain themselves for a while, and for moms to set aside some time to play and make memories with the kids.
All work and no play is not much fun for moms or kids. There has to be a good balance.
Remember, they are only children once…redeem the time and have some fun!
Cheers,
Michelle
