Hang Four Loads of Laundry
Instead of drying four loads of laundry in the dryer, locate an indoor spot and formulate a plan to hang laundry. Let it air dry. Yes, it may be inconvenient to have a clothes line/rope in your bathroom. To reduce the electricity bill try this laundry tip. Area’s to hang laundry are endless, and times of day may vary. If hanging laundry at night before bed is ideal to save time then have at it.
I actually used to clean for a lady who hung all of her laundry all of the time in her basement. She had a regular routine of washing, hanging and ironing her laundry. Her goal was to save money to stay at home with her kids. It worked out well, and I have had various setups for hang drying my laundry indoors.
Frugal Moms Shop at Thrift Stores and Garage Sales
Part of the frugal moms club involves shopping at second hand shops. Thrift stores and garage sales to be exact. I do shop at second hand consignment shops near holidays. Reality set in for me when I used to spend a lot of money on clothing. Then, I had to either give it away or sell it dirt cheap in a yard sale. To realize that something you paid a lot of money for then turned around and gave it away was wasteful helped me to shop at cheaper stores. I have found good clothes at a thrift stores over the years. Shopping for deals takes time, but is worth the effort.
Bake Bread Each Week
Next stage of money saving tactics for frugal moms is to bake bread. Have you seen how much bread is now? It is not cheap. Baking it is going to be cheaper and healthier to eat. First, set a day and a time. I know we are all busy, but sacrifices have to be made. You tube is full of shows that teach bread baking. Once it is part of the weekly routine, it will become habit just like cleaning and laundry.
Buy More Water
Finally, the grocery store is expensive right now. Groceries are at an all time high, and not getting cheaper anytime soon. The best way I have found for frugal moms to combat high food bills is to make easy changes. Start with something simple like drinks. Instead of buying pop, orange juice, and other beverages, buy water.
At first this will be difficult, but over time it will be life changing for your family. Water is better for us to drink anyway.
Frugal moms like to save money and find good deals. Most good deals aren’t really deals at all, and saving money has to become a habit. Changing what we currently do to spend money is the best way to save money. Start this new year off with the new start by implementing these four new habits. Setting aside the money saved to see the physical results of the sacrifice is a good feeling.
