How To Create An Organized Homeschool Space: In A Week

September 17, 2014 By Michelle Knight Leave a Comment

Having an organized space makes school, home, office or any other space so much easier. For me, I need to have everything at my fingertips, prepared and ready to go.  My boys are not the kind to sit still for too long!

On my youtube channel there is an overview of my “organizational style” with our homeschool. I use quotes because I have one idea in my head but it never quite works out that way.

I had my husband build our space with a desk in the middle. There are separate shelves on each side to put all the supplies, books or what is needed for preschool, High School, and first grade.

To utilize our small space I bought crates for each child and bins.  The crates are for the two oldest children to store their books in as they complete a subject.  At the end of the day that is placed under the desk.

On a weekly basis I plan our lessons (that takes about an hour). Then after the planning I put all of the supplies together. It really helps each morning to have craft supplies ready to go.

Where do you homeschool?  In a specified room, at the table, or do you allow your children to work where they are comfortable?
