Ko and I finished up our last week of letter Z. Preschool for him only lasts 30 min. of focused time, but any chance that I get through the day to use a learning experience I jump on it.
At homeschool convention this year I bought some placemats. What better way to start dinner conversation? Read the dinner mats and ask or answer questions. Ko’s was the alphabet, so now he gets to participate in our conversation.
We used the letter Z coloring page as a starter to recognize the letter z. Then as usual KO moved on to his videos. This week we used a lot of the Sesame Street videos on youtube.
Finally we read a Bible verse story that was “Zaccheaus” and pointed out all of the letter Z’s. KO had alot of fun singing the Zaccheaus song with me.
As we wrapped up our week I told him how much this year with him in preschool meant to me. Then I showed him a few baby pictures and we went down memory lane. They grow so fast, but I want him to know that my time with him is special. For that I will bring up a few stories that he also remembers. Telling stories of the funny things they do as they get older seems to be a hit. Trouble is my memory gets worse and theirs gets better. So I tell the story one way, and they tell it another! *smile*
Remember the game telephone? That is how our stories are now.
Most parents enjoy teaching their children as they get older. If not preschool then daily life. Share some of your stories with us!
Cheers,
Michelle
