Quick And Easy Holiday Appetizers

December 12, 2014 By Michelle Knight 2 Comments

The holidays bring such a rush.  Just the other day I had to make an appetizer for our scout troop.  Between all of my other obligations there was just no time for any detail.  Solution:  make a quick and easy holiday appetizer.

My old trusty, recipe was pulled out of my binder and utilized!

I in no way claim that I created this recipe….nor do I remember which family member or place that I discovered it.

This recipe is great because EVERYONE loves it, and is very affordable. When we left the scout event I had no mess to clean up, no dishes, nothing.

Mothers will love this.

Ingredients:

2 or 3 packages of Eckrich lil’sausages

1 bottle of store brand BBQ sauce.  (I was able to get this on sale for $1.19)

1/2c of water

Directions:

Turn crockpot on high 2 hours before event.  This is so the BBQ sauce does not burn.

Spray the inside of the crockpot with Pam.  It will help with clean up.

Run a sinkful of hot soapy water.

Keep a washcloth next to the crockpot.

Open all 3 packages and pour the lil’sausages in.

Add the entire bottle of BBQ sauce, and water.

Cook for 2 hours. Stir every 30 min.

When timer goes off pour the ingredients into an aluminum pan. (Pans can be bought individually at the dollar tree without a lid, or at Sam’s with lids.  If bought at Sam’s with lids they come in packs of about 30. This will save money for all future events requiring pitch in food).

There you have it, a great appetizer that everyone will love. No clean up for you and money saved to go for another Christmas gift!

Look at my Pinterest boards for more quick meal ideas!
