Quick Valentine Crafts For Toddlers

February 10, 2015 By Michelle Knight 2 Comments

Allowing toddlers to be included in craft time is very important. It helps them to develop great  fine motor skills, gives them sensory skills,  and starts off creativity at a young age.

Crafts also give parents quality time with their toddler. The crafts can be easy, fun, and inexpensive. This is very important because they thrive when having a parents’ attention.  It isn’t how much time you spend it is how you spend the time.

Here are some great craft ideas to try for Valentine’s Day

1. Cut out a heart and let them paint their handprint on it.

2. Print out a heart template and let them put stickers on it.

3. Use a pom pom with a clothespin and paint on a heart, or let them create their own design.

We had a lot of fun with all of the kids doing these crafts, but it was really great to see the baby painting and having fun. Even though he is a toddler he is able to do easy crafts…that’s how he learns. Toddlers love to be included. Not excluded because it is too much work. As I have more children the valuable lesson is cleanup is not more important than the time spent with them.

How do you have fun with your toddlers?

Cheers,

Michelle
